Visiting Araiteuru Marae

On Tuesday (Turei) we went to visit Araiteuru marae. We were welcomed onto the marae with a powhiri. We sang a waiata and greeted the Tangata Whenua of the Marae with a hongi.

After the powhiri finished we broke out into different activity groups. Some of the activities that we completed were poi, kowhaiwhai patterns and Maori games.

We had a lot of fun and learnt a lot of new things. Thank you to our tutors at the Marae and to all of those parents that came to help us.
