Visiting the Art Gallery

Today we visited John at the Art Gallery.

We looked at some of the portraits in the Gallery and Izzy got to dress up as one of the ladies in a painting that we were shown.

We then went into the art room and got to work creating some portraits using oil pastels and dye. We are going to use these as motivation to do a self-portrait that will hang on our wall.

• 19th February: (Thursday evening) - Meet the Teacher evening (Beginning at 7pm in the hall)
• 3rd - 12th March: Swimming lessons
• 23rd March: (Monday) Otago Anniversary Day - No school
• 25th & 26th March: Learning Commitment Interviews

Thank you to all of those parents that have offered to help at the Art Gallery. We are still looking for helpers for the upcoming swimming sessions. If you can help, please send the helpers form back to the classroom. Thank you!

Wordle Time.

We have had a great start to the Term.

Today we spent the afternoon creating Wordles on the computer. We had to think of words to describe ourselves.
Come in and read them and find out more about the wonderful children in our room!

Welcome back everyone. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday break. We have a busy term ahead. We have an upcoming trip to the Art Gallery and swimming lessons beginning at the start of March. A class newsletter will be sent home this week that outlines all of these things.
